To mark the start of the Chinese New Year of the Rat on 25 January 2020, all the children from the Reception Classes dressed in red which is a very special colour for Chinese New Year. The children also built their own Chinese dragon and paraded it together throughout the school like a real Chinese New Year dragon parade.

This morning, Year 1 pupils explored the idea of ‘aliens’ from the book The Man on the Moon. They had great fun devising their own creatures thinking about things like, how many eyes do they have? What sort of nose? Do they have legs? They used several art techniques and media including oil pastels, marker pens, coloured paper and pencils, employing colouring, drawing, copying, inventing, developing their fine motor skills and visual judgement.
